SpoCon Writing Contest
Welcome!
SpoCon's 2010 Writing Contest is here! We have an exciting event laid out, bringing new and aspiring authors of fiction to the public eye all while having a great time and keeping to our goal of promoting literacy in the community!
The contest is open to any author who is unpublished* and is about fostering the kind of diversity and imagination that brings us all together to enjoy our wonderful convention. The categories are Flash Fiction and Short Story. Details can be found on the downloadable entry form below.
To assist in your efforts to become professional writers, SpoCon is collaborating with our sister Cons, RadCon and MisCon, to put together several writing events that are attended by nationally and internationally acclaimed writers. These events allow you firsthand access to some of the best writers of fiction to help create and fine-tune that manuscript of yours for final entry. More information on these events can be found on their respective websites.
While you are waiting, take a stroll through the SpoCon Writing forum here for news on attending authors, updates and FAQs about the contest.
Andrea Howe of Blue Falcon Editing in Everett, WA is sponsoring this year's contest with an amazing set of prizes. The First Place Winners will receive a full copy editing service for their entrys to help bring the manuscripts closer to readiness for publishing! Second Place prizes include autographed copies of books written by our wonderful visiting authors.
Please, help SpoCon, fandom and our community gather together the able and willing talent that inspires our youth and generations of today and tomorrow by sharing your stories with us all: enroll in the SpoCon Writing Contest today!
Sincerely,
Dana Casper
